Pro Tennis returns to TCR in 2017!

The USTA has announced that The Tennis Club of Rochester was chosen to repeat as host of a USTA Men's $15,000 Clay Court Futures Tournament.  The 2017 summer event will take place June 15th through June 25th, with a Wildcard Shootout on June 15th. The tournament, a USTA Pro Circuit event, is the largest tennis event in Western New York and attracts players from all over the world.

The field for the LB Futures Tournament Main Draw will feature 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams.  Players ranked as high as No. 300 in the world typically compete in Future level events.  The qualifying tournament, June 17th to 19th, will determine the final eight singles players in the field.

The event will also feature a wild card "shootout" tournament at TCR June 15th. The Wild Card tournament will award the champion with a spot in the Futures main draw and the finalist will be awarded a spot in the qualifying event.

What is the USTA Pro Circuit?

With 94 tournaments throughout the country and prize money ranging from $15,000 to $100,000, the USTA Pro Circuit is the pathway to the US Open and tour-level competition for aspiring tennis players and a frequent battleground for established professionals.

Last year, more than 1,000 men and women from 74 countries competed on the USTA Pro Circuit for approximately $3.2 million in prize money and valuable ATP and WTA Tour ranking points.

Maria Sharapova, Andy Roddick, James Blake, Justine Henin, Nicole Vaidisova, Andrew Murray and David Nalbandian are among today's top stars that began their careers on the USTA Pro Circuit.

The USTA Pro Circuit is world-class tennis administered on the local level and played on local tennis courts as part of the fabric of communities nationwide - an opportunity for current and new fans to experience the excitement and intensity of the professional game in their neighborhood.  For more information, please visit procircuit.usta.com.

Be a part of the Tournament Team!

To make this tournament a success we will rely on the TCR members and Rochester community to volunteer for positions on our tournament team.

We need volunteers for a number of areas:

  • Housing
  • Courts
  • Transportation
  • Ball kids (age 11 and up)
  • Hospitality/Events
  • Guest Services (Security/Crowd Control, Ticket Takers, Sellers and Ushers).
  • Sponsorship

Day and evening positions are available.

Sign Up Here if you would like to volunteer.  Anyone in the community is welcome to join us for the tournament as a volunteer.

House a Player

The Rochester Futures provides private housing accommodations as a courtesy to the main draw players for the course of the tournament.

Our housing hosts are local families who support the tournament and enjoy their player guest, often inviting them back the next year.

Over the years, wonderful relationships have developed between hosts and players at these tournaments. We ask that our host families provide breakfast each morning and transportation when possible. Host families will receive week passes to the tournament.
